funkydarlinvintage where the favorite description tagline is "I know this isn't exactly 20 years old but.."

Jackie O People Magazine- "I know this isn't exactly 20 years old but so many people loved Jackie O and the photographs inside are much older than 20 years old."

1996 Houston Oilers Calendar- "Okay, another item that is not quite 20 years old but there are so many Oilers Fans out there, this will be quite a collectible item."

No wonder vintage is not taken seriously. What a joke.

"Clear Jellisy Platform Footware Shoes 1980s"
lol no. That was my favorite pair of tacky shoes, bought and worn in 1999-2000. R.I.P.

  4. Do any search under vintage and 199_ and you'll find stuff like this. Flagged and still there.

  5. I love how the 1996 calendar "isn't quite 20 years old". So now 13 "isn't quite" 20. Interesting.

  6. SM New York-founded 2005; under Steve Madden Shoe Co.

Whomever bought these got swindled because they were $36.00 and you can get the same pair on ebay for $10. I asked the seller about them and she was very rude and I told her she is deceiving customers by NOT SHOWING THE LABELS of her vintage. She has a lot of non-vintage, but covers it very very well.

and here is the other pair, also SM New York which she promptly removed the label name so no one could research it.

You know, I can't tell what's worse. The sellers intentionally deceiving naive buyers or the idiots that cannot tell what the hell they are buying.

  7. btw, love this site...I've got lots of crap to callout.

  8. How is this stuff STILL there when even the seller admits that she knows it shouldn't be there? Someone needs to send that seller a vintage calculator so she can do the math to know what "not quite" is. Doesn't matter anyway, since she knowingly broke the rules.

Etsy needs to tell us the rules changed. I'm sure a lot of us could clean out our closets from a few years ago.

  9. People don't realise they do more damage than good by doing this. She has a 1969 Cambells Soup ad in her shop. My parents met at Cambells Soup in Camden, NJ, in 1969 and collect Cambells stuff. I would have bought that in a *heartbeat*. But I won't buy from a...etsy schemer, for lack of a better word.

Shame. I almost want to convo her and tell her why she lost that sale.

  10. I was wondering about that Heather. Would that stop people who like the rest of her shop from buying.

I wouldn't tell her though or she'll just remove the "not quite vintage" line, making it harder for people notice what she's doing. Still can't believe that admin hasn't caught this one yet!

  11. Maybe she should make a "not quite vintage" section to make it easier for her customers.
