A reader commented on the shop vjones1.

I took a look around her shop and found this:
<img alt="" src="http://ny-image0.etsy.com/il_430xN.69314792.jpg" class="alignnone" width="330" height="222" />
<a href="http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=24627384">Vintage MONOGRAM Checkered.Louis Vuitton.LV Logo.Classic handbag</a>

CLASSIC LV LOGO PURSE MONOGRAMMED IN BROWN.

<strong>I think this might be a faux but has all the stamps and looks totally authentic but i have the real one from paris and it has a few minor differences.</strong>

So why is a FAKE, USED bag over $100??

  1. Uh, that's not even a monogram bag! Monogram has the LV'S and the fleur de lis all over it. That's an LV Damier. If you are going to sell fakes, at least know what they're called!

  2. All of her bags are fake.

  3. There's a $190 "replica" Prada bag in the shop featured yesterday. The bags probably aren't even leather.

    duh

  4. Nope, replicas are rarely leather, they're made with weird chemical composites that can actually be harmful. If you've "inhaled" near one, it's NASTY.

  5. If you search on etsy for vuitton, chanel, gucci you'll see that she isn't the only one who has discovered that etsy is a great place to unload counterfeits, especially if you call them vintage.

  6. This really Should Not Be. Have flagged - much good may it do me...

seller is on the front page with something else but isnt this interesting? She knows its against the TOU's to list something not for sale...

    should I flag anyways?

  8. I have been flagging this girls stuff forever.

The bags aren't the only problem, a lot of her "vintage" is contemporary clothing that she rips the labels off of so there is "no evidence."

And I know this because what first struck me is that I actually OWNED a shirt she was selling as vintage, that I purchased at marshalls a few months ago.

I think it's funny she's thinks no one knows and I'm glad her spot has been blown up.

  9. I would hope she's aware people can tell! She doesn't do much to hide. As long as she knows Etsy admit doesn't care, that's all that matters.

  10. Brenda, she says this in her listing:

"In order to have this listed, I have to offer it for sale. So if you would like a copy of this " A Little Info About Me", you may purchase it for 20cents and I will send you a copy in the mail."

You could flag her for being conceited and pretentious enough to assume that her story is worth twenty cents but I doubt that Etsy will give a damn about that.

  11. tina, you are not the only one who noticed that. I've flagged her vintage for ages too.

  12. Here is a reseller we've been flagging for ages.

She buys the tongue rings wholesale. Of course, then there is the whole copyright infringement but hey....

  13. Brenda, I believe that there is a seller who does a TON of treasuries and asks sellers to do that so she can feature them. I want to say her name is VickiDiane? There is a chance this seller was doing it for that.

Still not sure if its kosher. I would imagine that using your photo as the first in a listing for an item that is actually for sale would be closer to ok.
