grannysworkshop- reader email
11:48 PM Sunday, September 13, 2009Hi! i've been flagging this shop for 3 weeks straight and have even emailed them about it. All I get is a generic hi there! This shop is selling puppets from the company Folkmanis. they have even taken the pictures right out of the website. The finger puppets are Peruvian imports. The whole shop is a sham, including the story about the grandma making them for over 50 years.
Thats funny, Folkmanis has been in business for 30 years maybe they stole this lady's patterns! ;) Shame on you Folkmanis.

No profile, no policies, no location.
Looks like she stopped carrying the Folkmanis line.
Frog magnet is here:

I've bought some of those exact same puppets from a Peruvian Import stand at our local farmers market.
EtsyCallOut September 15, 2009 at 2:00 PM
My friend from Peru gave us some of those finger puppets after her last trip there.
EtsyCallOut September 15, 2009 at 2:00 PM
She actually did get closed down for a bit last week, I think, and came back without the Folkmanis puppets, but still ripping off the peruvian fair trade puppets.

This is sooo gross! Nasty piece of work with the granny story!

Hope it's cleared up soon -- you're doing something useful here, even if the guilty parties say otherwise.

Somehow I don't think this dirty to-be-closed thread had anything to do with it:

All the same, it brings about a good point. Open information strengthens the buying confidence of a market. Etsy buyers expect authentic handmade or vintage products. I like this site for the fact that I'm learning to spot resellers and other scammers.
It just occurred to me that I actually had one of Dohman's photographs marked as a favorite for a long time. While my jury on his case is still out, at least I'm able to see a more honest, two-sided perspective of his seller profile.

etsycallout, that is messed up! Your blog is still here, though, so I guess you're ok. But if I had to pick a tattletale it would be birdhouse boy.

Wouldn't it be great if shops were closed down as quickly and as effectively as threads?
Stinks about the blog, what grounds would they have for shutting it down?
EtsyCallOut September 15, 2009 at 2:00 PM
I hope this blog is not closed! I don't post a lot but I read this blog almost every day. Blogs like this are invaluable when etsy lets resellers, "vintage" sellers selling things from 2008, and copy cats run the show...and flagging does nothing and if you "call out" in the forums YOU are muted...and the guilty party is left unpunished.

Someone cried 'libel'? I know Blogspot doesn't do anything about that without a court order, so I'm quite surprised. I don't see any other reason for disciplinary actions.
On the topic of the post, at least some of the finger puppets can be bought from the same wholesale site as the magnets.

If all else fails, move it to Blogspot.
EtsyCallOut September 15, 2009 at 2:00 PM
Any news yet? I don't know why that person had to mention your blog in the closed thread referred to above. Etsy doesn't want this blog "advertised" in their forums. People don't think sometimes...........
Hang in there! You have all of our support!

"Warning: We have a concern about some of the content on your blog. Please click here to contact us as soon as possible to resolve the issue and re-enable posting."
That sucks. So, who do you think it was?
Who reported you for reporting the truth?
Ullja? VONLADY? Shade? All of the above?
EtsyCallOut September 15, 2009 at 2:00 PM
It could be that the situation in the "shade" thread has escalated to the next level, after all, lots of name calling, threats of legal action, and threats of physical violence were posted. Posting, on a public foum that can be seen by billions of people, that you or your husband are going to "crush peoples skulls" or "break their legs" is not the wisest thing in the world to do.

This is a great blog. If wordpress closes it, move to Blogspot, they won't close anything without a court order.

Clean hands, m'dear Shade, clean hands.

PussDaddy's blog is gone from Blogspot . . . making me think this all has to do with Shade?
EtsyCallOut September 15, 2009 at 2:00 PM
pussdaddy chose to delete her blog cause she said she didn't like blogging.
i would be sad to see this blog get shut down.
a cup of coffee, "closed threads", "pussdaddy blogs" and "callin out on etsy" completed my mornings.
