<a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5860744">http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5860744</a> These carved elephants are in the art category. The photo frames still have price tags on them.

I've seen those carved elephants at Ten Thousand Villages.
While they are handmade, I'd be willing to bet they're not handmade by the shop owner.
Grrr.
EtsyCallOut September 15, 2009 at 1:54 PM
I emailed the elephant seller. She told me she and her family makes ALL that stuff. Huh. Not buying it, literally or figuratively.
EtsyCallOut September 15, 2009 at 1:54 PM
ask her if they can make them in a larger size.
That is a tip off for me, when a seller can't customize an item. It tells me they are a reseller.

JuicyJewelz should be shut down for using "z" instead of "s".

gern - I love this from their policies: 'There is 'No Refund' if you leave me a negative feedback without contacting me first'.

"That is a tip off for me, when a seller can’t customize an item. It tells me they are a reseller."
Yeah, they are available in "medium." Where's the large? where's the small? Isn't it odd to describe your "custom "work as "medium?" I dunno.
Who cares?

You're good Amy!
This little gem http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=29388781 is item no. 3790 in the Banana House's past inventory http://banana-house-past.blogspot.com/ (you can see where the Etsy seller has blurred the BH logo on her pic).
And, hey, while you're there, look for some other Banana House items that Diva's Secret Closet carries. Ooops! Sorry, Diva, was that the secret?
EtsyCallOut September 15, 2009 at 1:55 PM
Well found Suz! Right, im off to flag it!
EtsyCallOut September 15, 2009 at 1:55 PM
Wow. That is some really skillful work in covering up that logo.

DSC's Additional Policies and FAQ:
Please Note: Purchases may take up to 2-3 weeks before you'll receive them. As much as I love piecing together Dita's Secret Closet, I do need time to prepare each item you've purchased. The material chosen to create each outfit is limited. Therefore, I will not custom make any requests. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
I laughed mightily.

Good to know people flag stuff like that. It awes me how quickly people make these connections...

Yeah, those elephants are really cool.
I got some on a trip to India once. They are everywhere - sold all over the streets and in every little shop and at the airport.

Just found this shop........one of their keyboard wrist pads are on the FP. Having a hard time thinking this is "handmade"!

my friend once brought me two seemingly identical elephants home from a trip to India. I still have one here, although its trunk is a trifle smashed up;)
EtsyCallOut September 15, 2009 at 1:55 PM
Amy- I googled "dizzy darling" because it was written behind some of the models in that shop and this site that came up. Surprise! Same background/same models. REPORTED.

Sounds like mass produced to me.
